Captain Lukas Meiler enters his eleventh season with Team Vorarlberg – the noble domestique Jannis Peter and young talent Laurin Nenning also remain on board!

Team captain Lukas Meiler enters eleventh Team Vorarlberg season – Bergfex Jannis Peter and youngster Laurin Nenning in the 2025 squad

It’s hard to believe! At the age of 29, Lukas Meiler (GER) is entering his eleventh season as a professional cyclist in the service of “his” Team Vorarlberg. The family man from Oberammergau not only brings a great deal of experience with him, but as captain he is also one of the most valuable members of the squad with his race overview.

“I am delighted to be entering my eleventh year with Team Vorarlberg. Despite my long time with the team, and precisely because of this, I have great ambitions to take on new challenges. I can truly say that Team Vorarlberg is my second family. I see my role as “road captain” again and want to achieve success with my teammates. But I also want to seize my own opportunities again and show what I’m still capable of,” says Lukas Meiler

Tour specialist Jannis Peter and young hopeful Laurin Nenning with a keen eye on the future

Before breaking his elbow on the sixth stage of the Tour of Portugal, 24-year-old Jannis Peter (GER) showed his qualities on the climbs and in tough tours. The long climbs in particular suit the lanky German U23 champion from 2022.

Jannis Peter on the contract extension: “I’m happy to continue riding with Team Vorarlberg. I had a lot of fun with the guys this year and I’m sure next year will be no different. Personally, I can hardly wait to finally get going again with a number on my back after my injury-related break.”

Like Jannis Peter and Lukas Meiler, the young Vorarlberg native Laurin Nenning (AUT) from Weiler has also extended his contract. The 20-year-old is entering his third professional season with ideal conditions. He has been a regular soldier in the Austrian army since October and can now concentrate fully on training. The mountain specialist is regarded as a great young hope. It will be interesting to see how he develops.

Laurin Nenning’s statement on the future: “I am delighted to be part of Team Vorarlberg for another year. I will do everything I can to use my time as an army athlete to achieve my personal goals and those of the team in the best possible way!”
