Colin Stüssi leads Team Vorarlberg line-up into the Tour of the Alps UCI 2nd PRO – Climbing spectacle of the top stars with destination Osttirol!
Team Vorarlberg is traveling to Italy on Easter Sunday with its best line-up. The 48th edition of the Tour of the Alps, a tour of the second highest category (UCI 2nd PRO), starts on Monday in San Lorenzo Dorsino. After five stages, 747 kilometers and 16,081 vertical meters, the tour ends in Lienz in East Tyrol. Team Vorarlberg wants to be on the offensive. Not least because the East Tyrol tourist region has become a new partner this year.
A tough battle awaits the Team Vorarlberg cracks all the way to the finish in Lienz!
Compared to the World Tour teams, the season is still very young for Team Vorarlberg. The demands against the many top pros, who are still fine-tuning for the Giro d Italia, are quite clear. They want to ride offensively and be active. It remains to be seen what they will ultimately achieve. Colin Stüssi, Jannis Peter, Daniel Geismayr and Lukas Meiler are mountain pros in the ranks of the squadra from Vorarlberg.
Commentary Colin Stüssi: “I can currently see an upward trend in my form. I’m excited to see what I can achieve in this really strong field of riders. We’re all already looking forward to the tour!”
Commentary Franz Theurl – TVB Chairman East Tyrol: “Team Vorarlberg has chosen the cycling region of East Tyrol for this year’s preparation. Challenging mountain roads, an altitude training camp that has already been tried and tested several times, where BORA-hansgrohe has also been a guest for three years, and the southern flair offer ideal training conditions around the Dolomite town of Lienz. The partnership with Team Vorarlberg and the East Tyrol Tourism Association is based on many years of friendship and great mutual commitment to cycling!
Sports Director Paul Renger nominated the seven-man Team Vorarlberg squad as follows:
Emanuel Zangerle, Daniel Geismayr (both AUT)
Colin Stüssi, Felix Stehli (both SUI)
Lukas Meiler, Jannis Peter (both GER)
Alexander Konychev (ITA)
