Great start to the 64th Tour of Malopolska UCI 2.2 – Colin Stüssi finishes second in the prologue – Giacomo Ballabio and Dominik Röber in the top ten
Team Vorarlberg gets off to a flying start at the 64th Tour of Malopolska – Colin Stüssi finishes second in the prologue!
Team Vorarlberg continues its impressive run of form! After two stage wins at the Tour of Upper Austria last week, the Vorarlberg team got off to a sensational start today at the 64th Tour of Malopolska. In the challenging 1,400-meter prologue, which was essentially a mountain sprint, team captain Colin Stüssi is in outstanding form and sprints to an excellent second-place finish.
A razor-thin decision in the prologue
The Swiss rider from Team Vorarlberg was beaten by a hair’s breadth—exactly 0.5 seconds—by the Czech rider Alberto Monti of Team ATT Investments. Third place went to the British rider Harrison Dainty of Team Jakroo Handsling.
Team Vorarlberg leads the team standings!
Besides Colin Stüssi also shone Giacomo Ballabio with a strong sixth-place finish and Dominik Röber, who finished in eighth place. Team Vorarlberg now leads the team standings and has several cards to play over the next three days.
Outlook for the first stage
Team Manager Thomas Kofler was thrilled: “That was an incredibly strong start to this tour!” Colin has been training for this stage race and is showing that he’s in good shape. Giacomo is also in good form, and “Dominik is a good fit. But above all, the whole team is in good spirits as we look ahead to the coming days!”
On Friday, the first stage is on the schedule, covering 133 kilometers and finishing in Chelm.
