Joy and sorrow at Tour Alsace – Jannis Peter sixth in final stage – Colin Stüssi ninth overall – Dominik Amann second in criterium in St. Anton am Arlberg!
The final stage on Sunday from Ribeauville covered 134 kilometers and 3,400 meters of elevation gain, ending at Champh du Feu. The incredibly high level of competition was evident again today. But Team Vorarlberg pros Jannis Peter and Colin Stüssi once again showed their best side, as they have so often this season. They rode with the best on the final climb and fought for the stage win. Jannis Peter finished sixth after overcoming health problems. Colin Stüssi crossed the finish line at the same time as his teammate and improved to ninth place in the overall standings.
The stage winner was Frenchman Aubin Sparfel (Decathlon – AG2R). The overall winner was Spaniard Markel Beloki (EF-Education EasyPost).
High dropout rate for Team Vorarlberg – Benz and Zangerle possibly out for longer
Pirmin Benz had to undergo emergency surgery yesterday after suffering appendicitis and will unfortunately be out for a long time. His support services will be missed by the team. Today, Emanuel Zangerle was also hit, who was pushed off and crashed and had to be taken to hospital for examination!

Podium! Dominik Amann finishes second at the International Criterium in St. Anton am Arlberg!
The Austrian Criterium National Champion was only beaten by German Champion Dario Rapps (Team BROSCH Kempten). In an exciting race in front of a large crowd in the streets of the ski resort, the race developed into a three-way battle. In the super final, Amann was narrowly beaten by Rapps. Third place went to Austrian David Preyler (Tirol KTM Cycling Team).
