What a day for Kilian Feurstein. The Team Vorarlberg pro decided As reported, he not only won the seventh stage of the Tour de Guadeloupe, but also took the green jersey as the points leader—closely followed by his teammate Emanuel Zangerle.

When it all came down to a bunch sprint, he did feel a little pressure. “But the team did an amazing job throughout the entire stage today and put me in a great position for the finish. In the difficult final sprint—which was slightly uphill and stretched out—it had initially looked as though Britain’s Matthew King would win, before the chasers literally flew up alongside him and Kilian Feurstein came out on top in the end. A YouTube video shows just how close the decision was.
“Things are going really well for us here, and now we need to reap the rewards of our hard work over the next three days,” said the Dornbirn native at the finish line, already looking ahead. The main goal is the overall standings, where team captain Colin Stüssi currently sits in fifth place.
