Ready for the start of the season! Team Vorarlberg squad set for the Giro de Sardegna UCI 2.1
Team Vorarlberg eager for season opener in Italy
The Vorarlberg team’s 28th season kicks off with the Giro de Sardegna UCI 2.1. The 30th edition of the Tour of Sardinia will challenge Colin Stüssi, Dominik Amann, and co. right from kilometer zero. New rider Mathias Larch will make his professional debut in March.
Sports director Paul Renger has announced the seven-man squad. Embarking on the long journey to the Mediterranean island are: Colin Stüssi, Dominik Amann, Emanuel Zangerle, as well as newcomers Giacomo Ballabio, Tobias Nolde, Philipp Hofbauer, and Iganzio Cireddu.
For 21-year-old Ignazio Cireddu, it is his home tour. The young Sardinian knows the pitfalls of the five stages. “It’s constantly up and down on all five stages. And above all, it’s very windy. The focus will not be on the result, but on getting into the swing of the season. Above all, it should be and will be a first, but very important assessment of the team’s position, which also needs to come together!” says team manager Thomas Kofler.
