Team Vorarlberg gets a good starting position at the 49th Istrian Spring Trophy UCI 2.2

The Austrian professional cycling team Team Vorarlberg got off to a good start at this year’s 49th Istrian Spring Trophy UCI 2.2. After a short, intense prologue over 1.5 kilometers in Poreč, the team was able to secure a good starting position for the next three stages.  

Kilian Feurstein shines with 13th place in the prologue

Strong performance from Kilian Feurstein. The young rider from Vorarlberg completed the 1.5-kilometre prologue in impressive style and finished in 13th place with an hourly average of over 57 km/h. Feurstein was four seconds behind the Italian winner Francesco Baruzzi (Team Visma-Lease a Bike).  

Team manager Thomas Kofler was visibly satisfied with the team’s start after the prologue:

“We are very satisfied with the performance in the prologue. Kilian has once again proven his strength and created an excellent starting position for the coming days. All the riders are on schedule.”

View of the first stage: from Poreč to Funtana

The first stage is already scheduled for tomorrow, which will take the riders from Poreč to Funtana over a distance of 149.7 kilometers. A first preliminary decision will be made on Saturday with the difficult stage to Montovun.
