Team Vorarlberg Express is rolling! Lukas Rüegg second on the queen stage of the 73rd Fleche du Sud – Jannis Peter fifth, Lukas Meiler sixth! Jon Knolle second at the GP Buchholz!

It was the expected tough battle today with start and finish in Bourscheid over 127 kilometers and 2600 vertical meters. The field became increasingly fragmented. 30 kilometers before the finish Alexander Konychev suffers an injury and comes back, but then Rüegg, Stüssi, Meiler and Peter take over.

In the super tough final, last year’s Dutch winner Pim Ronhaar from Team Baloise-Trek was able to pull away and win solo.

Second place went to Lukas Rüegg from Switzerland, who was incredibly strong today. With Jannis Peter, seventh at last week’s GP Vorarlberg, and Lukas Meiler, they have 50% of the riders in the top six! Colin Stüssi “jobbed” for his team colleagues today and crossed the line in tenth place.

Tomorrow, Saturday, the first time trial of the season awaits the Team Vorarlberg pros over 18.6 kilometers in Sanem. This will also decide the overall standings.
