Team Vorarlberg is right on track – Overall victory within reach – Ballabio still ahead of Stüssi
Even after the third day of the Tour of Malopolska, Team Vorarlberg remains firmly on track to defend its title. While Alexander Konychev came out on top last year, the dominant riders in the 2026 edition are Giacomo Ballabio and Colin Stüssi. The two remain in the lead even after today’s stage from Wadowice to Nowy Targ, a distance of 134 kilometers, he leads the overall standings. With Dominik Röber in sixth place, Team Vorarlberg has another rider in the top 10; the team also leads the team standings.
Today’s story is a quick one: After 70 kilometers, a group of six broke away, but they were never able to build up a significant lead. In the peloton, Team Vorarlberg, together with the second Austrian team, Hrinkow Advarics, and EEW from the Netherlands, controlled the race and had everything under control at all times. Eight kilometers from the finish, the breakaway was caught as expected, leading to a sprint involving all the favorites, which was won by the Italian Filippo Fortin of Hrinkow Advarics. Tobias Nolde finished sixth as the top Team Vorarlberg pro.
Tomorrow, the 64th Tour of Malopolska enters its final stage. The riders face a 153-kilometer ride from Rabka-Zdroj to Przehyba, where the race will conclude—with Team Vorarlberg having a very real chance of claiming the overall victory.
