Team Vorarlberg pro Jannis Peter achieves the greatest success of his career! Victory in the queen stage of the Czech Tour UCI 2.1 and fourth place overall – what a day for Team Vorarlberg!
What a Team Vorarlberg show today in the Czech Republic!!! Jannis Peter beats the World Tour and UCI Pro Teams and wins the tough mountain finish after 179 kilometers on Pustevny on the last stage of the Czech Tour. He has the most power reserves in the steep sprint and leaves the competition no chance!
Second place went to the big favorite from Team Visma – Lease a Bike Cian Uijtdebroeks from Belgium, third place to his compatriot Junior Lecerf (Soudal – Quickstep). With this sensational victory, 24-year-old Jannis Peter moved up to fourth place overall in the UCI 2.1 tour. By far the greatest success of his still young career! Colin Stüssi finished 24th today and ended the tour in 19th place. The team and the whole of Vorarlberg congratulate him!
Dominik Amann in the breakaway and the team around Stüssi give their all for Jannis Peter
A group of ten riders breaks away from the peloton. Vorarlberg pro Dominik Amann is there as a watchdog. In the end, they let three competitors pull away. Amann drops back to leader Jannis Peter in the field and leads him into the final, along with the other team colleagues. Colin vehemently increases the pace on the climb and positions Peter perfectly. He finishes in spectacular fashion!
Fourth place overall for Jannis Peter!
The winner of this year’s Tour of the Czech Republic is Junior Lecerf, ahead of Cian Uijtdebroeks. Fourth-placed Jannis Peter is just 18 seconds behind Alessandro Fancellu (ITA / Team UYKO) in third place. In the team classification, Team Vorarlberg finished in a strong seventh place.
