Friday’s stage from Nove Hrady to Studena covered 168 kilometers of classic style, but in difficult and changeable weather conditions. Lukas Meiler was the man of the day today. He dominated the raceaction at the front for a long time with his early attack in the leading group. Meiler secured 16 mountains prize points today and is the new wearer of the mountains jersey.
The stage winner in a rather chaotic finale was Dutchman Axel van der Tuuk (Team Metec). It wasn’tenough for the top spots today, but the goal was to stay safe, as the focus is on tomorrow.
The third stage on Saturday should be decisive in the overall standings, if the profile is to bebelieved. 3,200 meters of elevation gain in “only” 127 kilometers. At best, a good chance for leaderColin Stüssi.
