Team Vorarlberg travels to the 17th Int. Oberösterreich Rundfahrt UCI 2.2 with some options!

Team Vorarlberg presents a strong line-up for the 17th Int. Upper Austria Tour UCI 2.2

The Austrian professional cycling team Vorarlberg is ready for the next race. From June 4 to 7, the Vorarlberg team will be at the start of the 17th International Tour of Upper Austria (UCI category 2.2). With a first-class starting field that also includes development teams from World Tour teams and various national teams, this year’s edition promises to be more than exciting.

The Team Vorarlberg line-up for the Oberösterreich Rundfahrt:

Dominik Röber (GER)
Colin Stüssi (SUI)
Emanuel Zangerle (AUT)
Tobias Nolde (GER)
Kilian Feurstein (AUT)
Philipp Hofbauer (AUT)

Strategy and expectations

Sports Director Paul Renger is motivated about the upcoming race: “The Oberösterreich Rundfahrt is always a special highlight for us. We have a strong team at the start that can make its mark on different terrains. Our aim is to be active and alert and to show our presence. We are relying on our leaders, especially for the overall classification  Philipp Hofbauer and the experienced Colin Stüssi.

On the undulating stages Paul Renger has further opportunities to attack: “Drivers like Tobias NoldeDominik Röber and Emanuel Zangerle are predestined for breakaway groups and an offensive riding style. They will try to play to their strengths on the selective passages. Also  Kilian Feurstein will be on the lookout for stage-related opportunities, especially when it comes to the sprints.”

New course – new luck

The 17th Int. Oberösterreich Rundfahrt begins on Thursday, June 4, in Linz with a short but tough 4.3-kilometre mountain sprint up the Pöstlingerberg. After a total of four stages and around 520 kilometers, the tour will finish in Aigen-Schlägl on Sunday. The organizers have made some adjustments for this year, including the absence of the difficult final climb on the last stage, which is expected to change the course of the race.

The Vorarlberg pros want to build seamlessly on previous successes. The team has already won this tour in the past, and last year Jannis Peter secured an excellent second place overall.
