Team Vorarlberg has presented itself strongly on all days up to today’s final stage of the 16th International Tour of Upper Austria. First and foremost the stage win on Saturday by Vorarlberg newcomer Kilian Feurstein. And it should get even better today!
Today’s fourth stage with start and finish at Aigen-Schlägl Abbey was supposedly the most difficult section with 3000 meters of climbing. The course of the race showed a large leading group at the front with a lead of up to six minutes. Emanuel Zangerle was there as a “policeman” and was able to keep his team colleagues out of trouble. The Brazilian Henrique Ribeiro Bravo (Soudal Quickstep Devo Team) secured the overall classification ahead of the American Gavin Sherry. Dominik Röber finishes third overall, 26 seconds behind. Philipp Hofbauer follows in 18th place. Kilian Feurstein secures the overall points classification and is delighted with his first classification jersey in a UCI Tour!
