Team Vorarlberg pro Kilian Feurstein impresses in season debut at Umag Classic UCI 1.2
Rankweil/Umag. The Austrian Vorarlberg pro team made a satisfactory start to the spring classics on Thursday. At the 142-kilometer Umag Classic UCI 1.2 in Croatia, 22-year-old Kilian Feurstein achieved a strong 14th place, making him the best Austrian in the field of 155 professionals. Despite a hectic race with numerous crashes, all Team Vorarlberg riders remained unharmed.
Sports director Paul Renger sees potential for future sprints
The victory went to the Czech Adam Bradac (Team Factor Racing) ahead of the Serbian Ruslan Rajovic (Team Solution Tech). Sports Director Paul Renger was satisfied: “The Umag Classic was an important assessment for us. The 14th place and the crash-free race show the quality of our team. Especially with our duo Kilian Feurstein and Tobias Nolde I see potential for future sprints. These races are ideal for getting to know each other and trying things out.”
The next race, the Porec Classic UCI 1.2, will take place next Sunday.
