Third stage of the Tour of Hellas UCI 2.1 abandoned due to weather conditions

Weather-related abandonment of the third stage of the Tour of Hellas UCI 2.1

After yesterday’s attack by Colin Stüssi, Friday’s stage from Delphi to Chelkida covered 151 kilometers. Right from the start, Team Vorarlberg was at the front on the first long climb. A small leading group was left to its own devices. And today the pros also had to fight against the bad weather and heavy thunderstorms.

After long, torrential rain showers, the Tour Tross was first stopped after 110 kilometers. Shortly afterwards, the jury decided to abandon the stage due to safety concerns in the interests of the athletes!

The fourth stage on Saturday will bring a preliminary decision for the victory of the Tour of Hellas. Over 3,500 meters of climbing await on the 186-kilometre section from Chalkida to Athens.
