Team Vorarlberg defends overall lead on second stage of Tour of Malopolska UCI 2.2 – Leader Konychev sprints to fifth place
Today’s second stage from Wadowice to Nowy Targ over 135 kilometers was a classic working day for a team that holds the overall lead. Felix Stehli and Liam Crowley in particular rode practically the entire stage from the front. A leading group was formed and the large peloton was led into the bunch sprint.
Alexander Konychev sprints to fifth place and defends overall lead and sprint jersey
The bunch sprint was won by Poland’s Patryk Stosz (Voster ATS Team) ahead of his compatriot Norbert Banaszek (ATT Investments). The overall leader Alexander Konychev successfully defends his overall lead with fifth place. The Team Vorarlberg pro was also able to extend his lead in the sprint classification.
Tour decision is made in the final meters, but Schönberg is also calling!
The last stage on Sunday ends after 163 kilometers with a difficult mountain arrival on the Przehyba. 800 meters of altitude on the last kilometers will decide the overall victory. Colin Stüssi and Jannis Peter have the best chances for Team Vorarlberg.
The second part of the team will be in action tomorrow in Bavaria. At the professional criterium in Schönberg. Organized by long-time team sponsors Dominik Dietrich (Hairstyling Dietrich) and Toni Jung (Elsass Bäcker)!
