Jannis Peter third ahead of Lukas Meiler at hillclimb up to the Axamer Lizum – Team Vorarlberg defends lead in the Cycling League Austria

Directly from the altitude training camp back to the race track was the program on Friday. The fourth race of the Austrian Cycling League was also held as the Austrian Mountain Championships on Tyrolean soil. From Kematen 13.8 kilometers up to the Axamer Lizum (900 vertical meters). Unfortunately Colin Stüssi was not at the start. The Swiss captain had to miss a few days due to illness after the Tour of Malopolska. However, he is back in training.

About the race: Ready, steady, go and immediate attacks from the mountain specialists. Team Vorarlberg pushes the pace from the start and puts everything on one card for Jannis Peter. But after a short time, the mountain specialist is plagued by stomach cramps. He fights to the finish and still finishes an excellent third behind Riccardo Zoidl (AUT / Hrinkow-Advarics) and Philip Hofbauer (AUT / WSA KTM). Team veteran Lukas Meiler was close behind. And Emanuel Zangerle was again strong in ninth place.

Team Vorarlberg continues to lead the overall standings Cycling League

Thanks to today’s result, Team Vorarlberg Rang continues to lead the team standings. Alexander Konychev ranks third in the individual classification.
