Not again! Crash prevents top result for Team Vorarlberg on second Tour du Loir et Cher stage
Nothing new at the Tour du Loir et Cher UCI 2.2 – Big Crash prevents Konychev Sprint
After yesterday’s eventful opening stage, the first task was to restore team mechanic Riko Rรคim’s equipment. The second stage on Thursday from Selles-sur-Cher to Fougeres-sur-Bievre over 184 kilometers was another speed stage.
Alexander Konychev is brought into position by his teammates. Everything is ready for the “Sprint massive”. At the 5000 meter mark, in tenth position, there was another big crash in the peloton. Again today we were lucky that no Vorarlberg rider had to hit the ground abruptly, but all the preparatory work was in vain for the result.
Simon Dehairs (BEL – Team Alepecin Deceuninck Development) wins the sprint of the riders who came through. But Team Vorarlberg will try again tomorrow!
