Team Vorarlberg Heads into the Showdown in the 2026 Cycling League Austria!
Showdown in Königswiesen: Team Vorarlberg on the Verge of a Historic Double in the Cycling League Austria!
This coming Sunday, the professional cycling team Team Vorarlberg will compete in the final and decisive race of the 2026 Cycling League Austria season. The big showdown will take place in Königswiesen, Upper Austria, where everything is still up for grabs in both the individual and team standings. A tough battle right down to the last meter of the Rad Bundesliga is guaranteed.
Battle for the Crown: Philipp Hofbauer on the Verge of a Historic Individual Title
Our young local hero is currently leading the individual standings Philipp Hofbauer. But the battle for the overall title is shaping up to be a thrilling head-to-head contest with the former Team Vorarlberg rider Riccardo Zoidl of Team Hrinkow Advarics. Not since 2010 (Josef Benetseder) has a rider from Vorarlberg won the coveted individual title in the Rad Bundesliga. A historic opportunity that Philipp Hofbauer intends to make the most of this opportunity with unwavering determination.
Pure excitement: The team competition promises thrills right up to the finish line
The situation in the team standings is even more exciting. A razor-thin lead of just three points separates Team Vorarlberg from its direct rival, Team Hrinkow Advarics. The team that wins the daily team classification in the final race in Königswiesen will also be crowned the overall winner of the 2026 Cycling Bundesliga. It’s a real back-and-forth battle, in which the team’s collective performance will be the deciding factor.
Challenging Terrain and the Quest for a First
The route in Königswiesen is known for its challenging kilometers and elevation gain. Only the strongest athletes will come out on top in the end. Team Manager Thomas Kofler is looking forward to the finals with confidence: “We’ve consistently put in strong performances this season and put ourselves in a good position heading into this race. Now we need to dig deep, stick together as a team, and deliver a strong race. The guys are highly motivated and ready for this tough battle!”
If Team Vorarlberg manages to win both the individual title with Philipp Hofbauer and the team title, it would be a true first in the team’s 28-year history.
