Team Vorarlberg Pros Nominated for the European Championships – Tobias Nolde Wins in Wachsenburg

The Professional Continental Team Vorarlberg can look back on an eventful week. Two strong athletes— Emanuel Zangerle and Philipp Hofbauer —were named to the European Championships roster, while Tobias Nolde secured a commanding victory in Germany.

Two Professionals from Vorarlberg at the European Championships in Slovenia

The Austrian Cycling Federation has named Team Vorarlberg pros Emanuel Zangerle and Philipp Hofbauer to compete in the European Championships in Slovenia on Sunday, October 4. The European Championship road race starts in Ljubljana and covers a challenging 196-kilometer stage to the finish in Sencur.

Team Manager Thomas Kofler is pleased with the nomination: “It’s great to see two of our most talented Austrian riders competing in the European Championships. They will represent Austria and Team Vorarlberg with pride.” Philipp Hofbauer also sounds motivated: “Being nominated again for the European Championships means a great deal to me. After having to withdraw at the last minute last year due to illness, I hope to be in good shape when I take the start this year. On the nearly 80-kilometer approach to the very selective final laps, I’d like to make it into the breakaway group.” The ever-active Emanuel Zangerle also employs a similar offensive tactic.

Tobias Nolde Dominates the Criterium in Wachsenburg

Last Sunday, Tobias Nolde demonstrated that he remains in top form at the international criterium in Wachsenburg, Germany. In a fast-paced race, the Team Vorarlberg pro attacked early and, together with Patrick Reissig ( Benotti-Bertold) and Victor Wedekind (Rembe-Radnet), dominated the action at the front. In a thrilling final sprint, Tobias Nolde pulled away confidently to secure the victory ahead of Reissig and Wedekind. Another standout performance this season for Nolde.

The race day did not go as well for Pirmin Benz, Dominik Amann, and Kilian Feurstein at the race in Wangen. Both Kilian Feurstein and Pirmin Benz were caught up in a mass crash through no fault of their own. Feurstein was able to finish the race, however, and placed 13th.
