Colin Stüssi secures third place overall in the Tour of Rhodes UCI 2.2 for Team Vorarlberg after a tough fight!

Team Vorarlberg with another podium – Colin Stüssi secures third place overall at the Tour of Rhodes UCI 2.2 after a strong performance on the final stage

Right at the start of the 150-kilometer stage from Rhodes Town to Krematis, the pace was high and the peloton was split in two. Colin Stüssi attacks halfway through the race together with Sebastian Schönberger from Team Felt Felbermayr. But the Astana, Coop-Repsol and ATT-Investments teams are bringing them back. A strong group around Colin Stüssi breaks away on the last climb. Unfortunately, Lukas Meiler, who had not had a good day, missed the boat.

Stüssi’s battle for the overall standings!

Colin Stüssi was on his own towards the finish. The tour specialist countered all attacks from Astana, ATT-Investments and Felt-Felbermayr and finished seventh in the sprint. The winner was the Italian Alessandro Romele (Team Astana), ahead of the Dane Gustav Wang (Airtox-Carl Ras).

Norwegian Andre Drege (Team Repsol-Coop) took the overall victory twelve seconds ahead of stage winner Alessandro Romele (Astana). Four seconds behind Colin Stüssi in third place, and thus the next podium at a tour this year after second place at the South Aegean Tour. Lukas Meiler finished 19th in the final standings, Jannis Peter 29th.

NOTE: Due to technical problems, the press release sent out yesterday was not in the usual quality.
