Tour of Antalya UCI 2.1 Stage 2 – A hard piece of work on slippery terrain – Stüssi and Co. are on the right track!

A hard piece of work for Team Vorarlberg at the Tour of Antalya UCI 2.1 – Stüssi and Meiler’s form inspires confidence

“Today’s result does not reflect the race!” said Sports Director Werner Salmen. Colin Stüssi was only prevented from progressing in the final by a crash involving a good ten riders ahead of him. So he and Lukas Meiler finished today’s second section of the Tour of Antalya from Demre to Antalya over 140 kilometers in the second group. The winner was the Slovenian Matevz Govekar (Bahrain-Victorios). Overall leader is the Italian Giovanni Lonardi (Polti-Kometa).

This first round trip of the year as a test for Team Vorarlberg really has it all. The weather didn’t really want to today either. Rain, wind and cold temperatures were the constant companions today. On the long ascent from sea level zero to 1300 meters, the peloton was sorted. Lukas Meiler was able to catch up with Colin Stüssi in the final third. Due to this crash 20 kilometers before the finish, Team Vorarlberg was denied a better position. The other Team Vorarlberg pros also get through today without crashing. Almost a bravura performance on the slippery roads today.

No carnival in Antalya – tomorrow’s royal stage brings a preliminary decision

Tomorrow’s third stage will be the preliminary decision. The stage from Kemer to Tahtali is quite short at 133 kilometers, but with over 3,000 meters of altitude difference, it is incomparably demanding. A real touchstone for Meiler, Stüssi and co!
