Colin Stüssi in eighth place in the 3rd stage of the Oberösterreich Rundfahrt UCI 2.2! Alexander Konychev in fifth place in the road race at the European Small States Games.

In summery conditions, today’s 3rd stage led from Bad Schallerbach over 141 kilometers and 2300 meters of altitude to Aigen-Schlägl.

After numerous breakaway attempts over the first 40 kilometers, a leading group managed to break away from the field and was caught shortly after the first finish passage.

Thanks to another great team performance, the team leaders were well positioned going into the penultimate climb.

Colin Stüssi and Jannis Peter remain in the top ten in the overall standings of the tour!Shortly before the end of the penultimate climb, today’s winner from Mexico Edgar David Cadena (Team Petrolike) was able to break away from the rest of the field to win solo ahead of Aaron Dockx (Alpecin-Deceuninck Development Team) and Bálint Feldhoffer (Team United Shipping).

The best Team Vorarlberg rider, Colin Stüssi, crossed the finish line in eighth place, 14 seconds behind. Jannis Peter finished the race in 11th place and Emanuel Zangerle in 15th.

As every year, the final stage on Sunday will most likely decide the outcome. The long and difficult climb up the Hinterstoder Höss awaits after 132 kilometers. You need a good day with good legs!
