Alexander Konychev sprints to seventh place on the final stage of the 60th Giro della Regione Friuli
The fourth and final stage on Saturday of the Giro della Regione Friuli from Sacile to Gorizia over 160 kilometers, again a matter for attackers. Especially the Team Vorarlberg pros. Konychev, Meiler, Stehli, Rüegg and Knolle sought salvation in the escape to the front.
Meiler and Konychev with an exclamation mark
In the end, it was Lukas Meiler who was able to break away with a group. For a long time it looked as if they would make it through. But 15 kilometers before the finish they were dropped. Alexander Konychev was then present in the counter attack. The Italian, who has been riding strongly throughout the entire tour, sprinted to seventh place today and is looking forward to next week’s Tour of Istanbul with satisfaction.
Sprint winner the Mexican Cesar Masias (Team Petrolbike). Overall winner of the tour from Norway, Jorgen Nordhagen from Team Visma – Lease a bike Team.
