Hectic start to the season at Tour of Antalya UCI 2.1 for Team Vorarlberg

Hectic start to the season for Team Vorarlberg at Tour of Antalya UCI 2.1

Today’s opening stage of the Tour of Antalya from the well-known vacation resort of Side to Antalya over 135 kilometers was the starting signal for Team Vorarlberg for a hopefully successful season. In changing weather conditions and recurring rain, all six Vorarlberg pros finished the stage without losing time to the Belgian winner Timothy Dupont (Tarteletto-Isorex).

In a nutshell: rain, wind, slippery roads, 47 km/h average speed and a nervous starting field. Newcomer Tomoya Koyama from Japan was also involved in a crash. But everyone was fit and motivated for the next few days at the finish. Dominik Amann is the best 24th in the mass sprint today.

On the second stage tomorrow from Demre to Antalya over 140 kilometers, the classification riders will push themselves to the fore. After all, there are almost 2500 meters of elevation gain on undulating terrain.
