Team Vorarlberg again with aggressive riding style on the second stage of the Settimana Coppi e Bartali UCI 2.1 in Italy

Selection at the Settimana Coppi e Bartali UCI 2.1 – Team Vorarlberg again with a strong performance on the second stage

Ready, steady, go for the second stage from Riccione to Sogliano al Rubicone: After 4 kilometers it’s like yesterday: four-man lead group with Dominik Amann. The 26-year-old from Vorarlberg shows up again, but after 50 kilometers the pace dictated by INEOS-Grenadiers and UAE Team Emirates puts him back in the lead. Chapeau for this courage!

As the race progressed, the stage developed into a tough elimination race right up to the finale. The seven World Tour teams in particular showed their teeth with extreme speed right up to the final climb. They also decided the victory among themselves. British rider Paul Double (Jayco-Alula) won the stage ahead of Jarno Widar (BEL / Lotto) and Diego Ulissi (ITA / XDS Astana).

Colin Stüssi is the best of the Vorarlberg riders in 30th place. Jannis Peter, Alexander Konychev and Lukas Meiler are also in good form.

Moran Vermeulen – sporting director: “The field is so high-caliber that these race kilometers are so incredibly valuable for our riders. Dominik showed courage again today, but the others are also able to keep up. That’s more than encouraging for the season!”
