Thousands of spectators frenetically followed the fifth and final stage of the 74th Tour of Austria UCI 2.1 and Team Vorarlberg was once again in the second leading group with Emanuel Zangerle and the most successful Continental team of the Tour in the final standings!
Bob Jungels takes solo victory in Feldkirch
After the atmospheric start in Feldkirch’s Marktgasse, the pace is immediately high again. Several riders are able to break away. Emanuel Zangerle was again in pursuit. The leading group is left behind over the mountain classifications Furkajoch, Faschinajoch and Dünserberg. UAE-Emirates dictates the pace in the peloton. The yellow jerseys of the Team Vorarlberg pros also adorn the first group in the peloton. Jannis Peter, Colin Stüssi, Alexander Konychev, Emanuel Zangerle, but also the young Killian Feurstein are again riding a really strong race. The final starts after the downhill from Dünserberg.

Behind him follows a smaller group with the best of the Tour. Among them Jannis Peter, the 24-year-old shooting star from Team Vorarlberg in 21st place.
Jannis Peter among the top stars in ninth place overall
The overall winner is the Mexican Comet Isaac Del Toro (UAE-Emirates), ahead of Irishman Archi Ryan (EF-Education Easy Post) and Rafael Majka (POL / UAE-Emirates). Jannis Peter defended his ninth place overall and was beaming with a big smile at the finish.
Most active rider of the Tour Emanuel Zangerle and second in the mountain classification
On the ascent to Laterns, Emanuel Zangerle sets off in pursuit of the four men at the front. But his rival Nicolas Vinokurov (KAZ / ASTANA) is alert and secures the jersey on the Furkajoch. Nevertheless, “Emu” put up a great fight. He finishes second and is named the most active rider of the entire Tour of Austria!
Thomas Kofler – stage organizer / team manager: “What happened on the course in Vorarlberg today. Just goosebumps and overwhelming, how crazy Vorarlberg is about cycling. But also how big the Team Vorarlberg fan base has grown. I am proud of everyone in the team. Even when a youngster like Kilian Feurstein rides such a difficult tour, it’s a badge of honor. Jannis, but also everyone else, simply delivered a phenomenal performance!”
