Vorarlberg pro Alexander Konychev in ninth place overall in the Tour of Istanbul UCI 2.1 – Team Vorarlberg in third place in the final classification of the Cycling League 2024

With stage 14 today in the fourth and final stage over 84 kilometers in the middle of Istanbul, the Italian Alexander Konychev secured the top ten place he had hoped for in the overall standings of the UCI 2.1 Tour. The 26-year-old had almost made it even further forward. But Team Vorarlberg can be satisfied with ninth place against the World Tour and Pro teams.

“I wanted to risk everything again today and went all out in all the bonus sprints. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make up any more time. But I’m still satisfied because the last few days were really fast and aggressive !” says Alexander Konychev

The overall winner was the Frenchman Mathieu Bourgaudeau (Total-Energies), ahead of the Italian Alessandro Romele from Team Astana. The team travels back home tomorrow after the last tour of the year.
