Everything is fine for Team Vorarlberg on the first stage of the Giro della Regio Friuli UCI 2.2
All’s well in Bella Italia! No top position on the first stage of the Giro delle Regio Friuli but still a top job!
The largest starting field of the season for Team Vorarlberg with 174 starters from 29 teams at the 60th edition of the “Giro delle Regione Friluli Venezia Giulia UCI 2.2” near Trieste. And this starting field is of high quality. Today’s first section over 177 kilometers from Palazzolo Dello Stella to San Giorgio Niogara without any climbs. Not at all to the taste of Team Vorarlberg.
Team Vorarlberg and National Team Italy
A more than dangerous leading group is gaining several minutes on the peloton. No one in the peloton feels responsible for the chase. Team Vorarlberg takes the lead with Jon Knolle and Co. The Italian national team continues to provide support until Radio Tour announces “peloton complete”. Five minutes to go – Chapeau Team Vorarlberg!
The sprint of the field was kept out today. The winner was the Italian Matteo Malucelli (Team JCL UKYO). Tomorrow is the toughest stage on paper, starting in Ampezzo. Quite short at 141 kilometers, but with three mountain classifications and a mountain arrival in Sauris at 1400 meters. Good luck Colin, good luck team!
