Team Vorarlberg Express is rolling! Colin Stüssi now fifth overall in the Tour of Hellas UCI 2.1 with stage nine – Jannis Peter in tenth place!

Team Vorarlberg very strong in Olympia! Colin Stüssi now in fifth place overall after a tour de force on the queen stage of the Tour of Hellas – youngster Jannis Peter also in the top ten!

It was the queen stage on Saturday from Chalkida to the Olympic village in Athens over 186 kilometers and 3500 meters of altitude. What did Team Vorarlberg have planned for today? After the race was abandoned yesterday, the overall classification was set today. After just 50 kilometers, the battle began on the second climb.

Colin Stüssi and Jannis Peter in a big fight!

Eleven riders storm up and away from the field. Including Colin Stüssi and Jannis Peter, two riders from Vorarlberg. Plus three riders from Q36,5 Pro Team, two riders each from Team XDS Astana and Unibet-Tietema. The World Tour Jayco-AlUla around the overall second Luke Plapp was not represented. Only Jannis Peter had to let go on the last climb. Colin Stüssi, like Team Hrinkow pro Riccardo Zoidl, was only a few seconds down on his rivals in the mountain classification.

Colin Stüssi now fifth overall – Jannis Peter tenth overall!

Frenchman Adrien Maire from Team Unibet-Tietema wins the sprint from the five-man leading group ahead of Diego Ulissi (ITA / XDS Astana). Colin Stüssi finishes ninth, one minute behind, followed by Jannis Peter in tenth place.

Colin Stüssi now improves to fifth place in the overall standings. Jannis Peter moves up to tenth place. A great performance by the Team Vorarlberg pros today. The timetable is right!

The final stage number five from Marathon to Syntagma. Significantly more over the 42 marathon kilometers. After 155 kilometers there are many signs of a bunch sprint.
