Team Vorarlberg continued its collection of top placings at the Fleche du Sud in Luxembourg. On the second stage today, the talented Vorarlberg rider Kilian Feurstein once again made a strong statement. The 22-year-old sprinted to an excellent fifth place after a strong sprint.
Race course of the 2nd stage – Luxembourg / Rumelange
The second stage led the peloton over a classic-like 151 kilometers with start and finish in Rumelange. The riders had to complete a circuit nine times, with rain but also dry road sections, the leading group was kept on a long leash and placed in the finale. Team Vorarlberg was also active again today right up to the final.
Missing in the final mass sprint Kilian Feurstein was only the blink of an eye away from the absolute top result. Thanks to the perfect positioning of his teammates, the runner-up from Vorarlberg was able to launch a strong attack and sprinted behind the stage winner Matthew Brennan (GBR / Team Visma-Lease a Bike) in fifth place.
“It was a tough fight to the end today, but the team gave me excellent support and put me in the perfect position. Not much was missing, but we are on the right track and are looking forward to the coming days,” said Kilian Feurstein after the stage.

With this top result Kilian Feurstein is already in sixth place in the overall standings. In the lead was two-time stage winner Matthew Brennan. The other Team Vorarlberg pros finished the race in the peloton.
Tomorrow the third stage of the Fleche du Sud is on the program, which leads the peloton over 155 kilometers to Bourscheid.
