Team Vorarlberg youngsters Kilian Feurstein and Pirmin Benz hold their own in the second stage of the Tour Alsace UCI 2.2 // Dominik Amann aims for the podium in St. Anton am Arlberg!

Kilian Feurstein and Pirmin Benz hold their own in the second stage of the Tour Alsace UCI 2.2 – Dominik Amann aims for the podium in St. Anton am Arlberg!

The second stage from Europapark Rust to Selestat had to be shortened due to roadworks. But this made the super-fast (average speed 49 km/h) and flat 152-kilometer section all the more fast-paced and hectic.

Kilian Feurstein and Pirmin Benz hold their own

In Selestat, the expected mass sprint of 150 riders took place. And right in the middle of it were Kilian Feurstein and Pirmin Benz. They showed courage against the sprinter teams and were still at the front 100 meters before the finish line. They were overtaken at the last moment, but with 17th and 18th place, they showed that they have what it takes to stay in the race! All Team Vorarlberg professionals crossed the finish line at the same time. The winner was Canadian Mathias Guillemette (TUDOR-Pro Cycling).

Stage three from Vesoul up to the traditional La Planche des Belles Filles (141 kilometers / 2320 meters of elevation gain). This finish has already made history numerous times in the Tour de France and will bring a first preliminary decision in the overall standings.
