Tobias Nolde now second overall in the mountain classification at the 52nd Circuit des Ardennes UCI 2.2 – A tough test in the mountains in wind and weather awaits on Saturday!
Team Vorarlberg within striking distance before the decisive stage of the Circuit des Ardennes UCI 2.2 – Tobias Nolde now second overall in the mountain classification after the third stage!
The third stage of the Circuit des Ardennes (UCI 2.2) led the peloton from Lac de Bairon to Lac des Vieilles Forges over 159.5 kilometers and a steep 2300 vertical meters.
Tobias Nolde determines the racing action in the leading group
At the start of the race, our German newcomer Tobias Nolde once again put himself in the limelight. As part of a strong leading group, he set the pace at the front for long stretches and collected valuable points for the mountain classification and is now second overall in this special classification. However, around 30 kilometers before the finish, the breakaway group was caught again by the main peloton.
The day’s victory went to the Dane Mads Landbo from Team ColoQuick. The following remained for Team Vorarlberg Dominik Röber and Philipp Hofbauer remained unscathed in the peloton and were able to save most of their energy for the upcoming, decisive stage. The fourth and final stage promises to be a really tough battle: Over 195 kilometers and almost 3500 meters of altitude, wind and rain are on the cards. The whole team will be important here on the climbs to get the two captains into the final!
