Two podium finishes for Team Vorarlberg by Konychev in Swiss doubles_sensational fourth place by Geismayr at the Gravel World Series in Valkenburg

Another successful weekend for Team Vorarlberg! Konychev on the podium at the Tour of Bern and Märwil UCI 1.2 – Geismayr in fourth place at the Gravel World Cup in the Netherlands

International Tour of Bern – Alexander Konychev in first place

This year’s traditional Tour of Bern over a classic-like 136 kilometers started in Lyss. Team Vorarlberg controlled the race and set numerous accents. Alexander Konychev sprinted to third place in the final. Felix Stehli finished eleventh. Winner Arnaud Tendon ahead of Marcel Wyss (both SUI).

“It was close to victory. I really wanted to win, but the sprint wasn’t quite perfect. But a podium is a podium!” said Alexander Konychev

Cycling Festival Märwil UCI 1.2 – And again Alexander Konychev – second place, Stüssi in seventh!

A UCI 1.2 was ridden for the first time on the equally classic-like circuit over a total of 154 kilometers. So was the line-up, with Stefan Bissegger from World Tour Team Decathlon-AG2R leading the way. Bissegger is also the beaming winner after 3h 25min and an hourly average of over 45km/h. But Team Vorarlberg also put in an incredibly offensive performance today. Alexander Konychev sprints to rank. Alexander Balmer (SUI / Solution Tech Vini Fantini) is third. Team colleague and today’s escape companion Colin Stüssi is seventh!

Daniel Geismayr finishes fourth in the UCI Gravel World Series Marly Grav Race in Valkenburg with a powerful performance

The third race of the World Series in the Valkenburg area for Team Vorarlberg. 230 starters set off on the challenging 155-kilometer course. The three riders from Vorarlberg, Kilian Feurstein, Laurin Nenning and Daniel Geismayr, showed no hesitation against the big names right from the start. Nenning had to end the race prematurely after a defect. Feurstein rode a strong race and placed in the first quarter.

Daniel Geismayr rode an incredible race today. The Vorarlberg native was only beaten by the Belgian super star Tim Welles (Team UAE Emirates) by one minute. In the sprint for second place he was hindered by lapped riders and sensationally finished fourth.

Daniel Geismayr: “I had a great day today. The best cyclo-cross riders from Benelux were there. But I felt really strong and was able to keep up everywhere. It’s a pity that I was really hampered in the fight for second place in the final, but my form is good at the moment and I’m more than happy!”
